U.S. airman gets 32 months for raping Okinawa woman
NAHA, Japan - Three lawyers for U.S. Air Force Senior Staff Sgt. Timothy Woodland speak to reporters at the Naha District Court on March 28 after the court sentenced Woodland to 32 months in prison for raping a Japanese woman in Chatan on June 29 last year. The case set off widespread anger in Okinawa, which hosts the bulk of U.S. military facilities in Japan and where a number of crimes involving U.S. military personnel have occurred.
