3 new cities, 2 towns launched in Japan

NAHA, Japan - Okinawa Governor Keiichi Inamine (2nd from R) and Tomigusuku Mayor Toyoaki Kinjo (2nd from L) celebrate the birth of Tomigusuku city with a population of about 50,500 in Okinawa on April 1. Three new cities and two towns were launched in Japan on the day, the start of a new fiscal year, bringing the number of municipalities to 3,218.
