SECOM develops feeding robot

TOKYO, Japan - A robot that helps a disabled person eat his or her meal was unveiled April 25 by SECOM Co., pioneer in the security service business. The robot, dubbed ''My Spoon,'' measures 28 centimeters long, 37 cm wide and 25 cm high, weighing 6 kilograms. It took SECOM and its medical equipment subsidiary 11 years to develop the product, which will hit the market on May 1. Available in three different types, the robot carries price tags higher than \380,000.
