Ruling Parties-backed Ishida wins in Wakayama by-election

WAKAYAMA, Japan - Masatoshi Ishida, a candidate backed by the ruling parties including the Liberal Democratic Party, shouts ''Banzai'' as he rejoices with his supporters after being assured of victory in the April 28 by-election in Wakayama Prefecture for the lower house seat. He defeated two rivals backed by the opposition camp.
