ADB confab hails Asia's brightening economic outlook

SHANGHAI, China - The Asian Development Bank (ADB) closes its 35th annual meeting in Shanghai on May 12. Delegates to the three-day conference painted a guardedly optimistic picture of the regional economy and vowed efforts to help rebuild war-ravaged Afghanistan.

On May 27, Shanghai Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Management Committee, the Municipal Housing Administration Bureau, the Municipal Planning and Resources Bureau, the Municipal Tax Bureau and other four departments jointly issued the "Notice on Optimizing the Policies and Measures for the Stable and Healthy Development of the Real Estate Market in Shanghai". Nine policy measures were put forward, including adjusting and optimizing the housing purchase restriction policy, supporting the reasonable housing demand of families with multiple children, optimizing the housing credit policy, supporting the "old for new" and optimizing the supply of land and housing. The Notice shall come into force on May 28, 2024.
