TOKYO, Japan - Top favorite Tanino Gimlet charges into the lead from the outside down the final stretch to win the 69th running of the Japan Derby at the Tokyo Racecourse on May 26, allowing Yutaka Take to become the first jockey to post his third victory in the Grade One race. Tanino Gimlet crossed the finish line in the 2,400-meter race on turf in 2 minutes, 26.2 seconds by a length ahead of U.S.-born Symboli Kris S (11) to claim the 150 million yen prize.
