2 ex-Yokohama assembly members want expulsion rescinded
YOKOHAMA, Japan - Hiroko Yonahara (L) and Sakura Inoue (2nd from L) hand petitions to a Kanagawa prefectural office staffer July 16 asking Gov. Hiroshi Okazaki to rescind their expulsion from the Yokohama municipal assembly. The former assembly members occupied the chairman's seat after they were repeatedly prevented from voicing their objections to displaying the Hinomaru national flag in the chamber, according to the petitions.
