Defector says donated Japanese rice not reaching N. Koreans
TOKYO, Japan - Li Chang Song, a Japan-born ethnic Korean who moved to the North under a postwar repatriation program, speaks at a meeting of the main opposition Democratic Party of Japan's federation on North Korean humanitarian issues in Tokyo on July 25. Song, who has defected to South Korea, said rice donated to the North by Japan is being hoarded by its military personnel and is not reaching hungry people.
