Daiei's Wakatabe becomes free agent
FUKUOKA, Japan - Daiei Hawks right-hander Kenichi Wakatabe leaves his club office in Fukuoka on Oct. 31 after deciding to exercise his right to become a free agent and leave the Pacific League club next season. Wakatabe, who acquired free agent status this season, expressed his hope to play for a team in the Tokyo area. (Kyodo)
