TOKYO, Japan - Mitsubishi Motors Corp. Suzuki releases Hungarian-made 5-door Splash compact car

TOKYO, Japan - Suzuki Motor Corp. on Oct. 21 begins selling its Splash five-door compact car (photo) for the Japanese market manufactured by its Hungarian subsidiary. The 1.2-liter, 3.7-meter-long car, produced by Magyar Suzuki Corp. in Esztergom, around 50 kilometers from Budapest, is the first vehicle manufactured by an overseas unit of the automaker to be sold in Japan with the Suzuki badge. M'bishi Motors to launch 100% ethanol car in Brazil

TOKYO, Japan - Mitsubishi Motors Corp. said on June 21 it will roll out the Pajero TR4 Flex, its first vehicle to run completely on ethanol, in Brazil in July, in an effort to establish a stronger presence in the fast-growing alternative fuel car market. Toyota unveils new fuel-efficient engine technology

Toyota releases all-new, higher-end minivan hybrid

NAGOYA, Japan - Toyota Motor Corp. on June 12 marketed in Japan a completely redesigned, higher-end minivan hybrid (in photo), whose mileage has improved to 20 kilometers per liter of gasoline, a fuel economy comparable to that of a compact car, thanks to use of a smaller motor and battery. The seven-seater, four-wheel-drive Estima G with a 2.4-liter engine also boasts better acceleration and sells for 4.41 million yen, about 500,000 yen more expensive than comparable gasoline-powered vehicles, Toyota Motor said. Toyota unveils high-end Lexus luxury car

TOKYO, Japan - Toyota Motor Corp. Vice President Kazuo Okamoto stands beside a Lexus luxury car brand's high-end model, the LS, at a press conference in Tokyo on April 26. The company plans to put the LS on sale as the successor to the Celsior in Japan in September.
