Osaka mint to accept orders for Winter Asian Games silver coin

OSAKA, Japan - The Finance Ministry's Mint Bureau in Osaka said Nov. 15 it will accept mail orders from Nov. 22 to Dec. 5 for its first colored silver coins to mark the fifth Winter Asian Games to be held in Aomori Prefecture in February 2003. The 1,000-yen coin made of pure silver features a skier and a skater on the front, and apples and the games' symbol on the back. The apples a major local product of Aomori. (Kyodo)
