Tokyo stocks down, TOPIX hits lowest level in 18 years
TOKYO, Japan - The price board at a brokerage house in downtown Tokyo shows the benchmark Nikkei Stock Average fell 44.56 points to 8,301.45 at the end of the morning session Nov. 19. The Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX) of all First Section issues dropped 10.59 points to end the morning at 813.25, the lowest level since it closed at 810.74 on Sept. 12, 1984. (Kyodo)
