E. Timor's Belo asks to resigns as bishop
DILI, East Timor - East Timorese clergyman Filipe Ximenes Belo (file photo) wrote Pope John Paul II on Nov. 26 asking to be allowed to resign his bishopric. ''Due to health reasons, I have written a letter to the pope requesting my resignation as the administrator of the Apostolic of Dili Diocese,'' the letter said. (Kyodo)
