Nissan to begin Micra production in Sunderland

SUNDERLAND, England - Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Co. will begin producing its new Micra compact cars (Photo) on Nov. 29 at its British plant in Sunderland to put them on the European market in January. The new Micra will play a key role in Nissan's medium-term management strategy that calls for boosting annual sales in Europe to 600,000 units, an increase of 100,000 from the current sales volume.
