Hoffman's two-toed sloth at Ueno zoo gives birth
TOKYO, Japan - A Hoffman's two-toed sloth has given birth at Tokyo's Ueno zoo for the first time since she and her male partner came from a zoo in Chicago in April 1983. Zoo officials said Dec. 4 the female sloth named Ko (in photo released by the zoo), about 22 years old, gave birth on Nov. 20, a result of a union with her companion named Hide. (Kyodo)
