Hostage-taker at Kyoto Chuo Shinkin Bank arrested
KYOTO, Japan - Eiichi Tokuda (L), who barricaded himself at Kyoto Chuo Shinkin Bank and held two hostages for nearly 17 hours, was arrested early Dec. 27. Tokuda, a former executive of a real estate company with extensive borrowings from the bank, walked into the bank's head office the previous day with a handgun and took four employees hostage. Two of them were released later. (Kyodo)
