U.S. Navy signs deal with kin of 2 Ehime Maru victims
TOKYO, Japan - Richard Evans (2nd from R, front) of the U.S. Navy signs a compensation settlement at the U.S. Embassy on Jan. 31 with the families of two people who died in the sinking of the high school fisheries ship Ehime Maru in a collision with the U.S. submarine Greeneville off Hawaii two years ago. The two were Yusuke Terata, 17, a student at Uwajima Fisheries High School in Ehime Prefecture, and Toshimichi Furuya, 47, chief engineer of the Ehime Maru. (Pool photo) (Kyodo)
