Ex-construction minister Nakamura enters detention house

TOKYO, Japan - Former Construction Minister Kishiro Nakamura (file photo) was sent to the Tokyo Detention House on Feb. 13 following the Supreme Court's dismissal of his last challenge against a conviction for taking bribes. The Supreme Court's decision finalized Nakamura's conviction and stripped him of his Diet seat. (Kyodo)

        Ousted Nepali Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is walking towards his designated seat after tabling the confidence motion in the parliament for deliberation in Kathmandu, Nepal, on July 12, 2024, for the fifth time after coming into power in 2022. Nepali Prime Minister Dahal is failing the vote of confidence and is being ousted from the position. Dahal, who has been in office for over one year and six months, is requiring 138 votes to pass the trust motion but is receiving only 63 votes in his favor.
