Police agency head inspects security of nuclear power plant
KASHIWAZAKI, Japan - National Police Agency chief Hidehiko Sato inspects a team of police officers tasked with security at the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear power station in Niigata Prefecture on April 2. Since the outbreak of the U.S.-led war against Iraq, Niigata prefectural police officers armed with rifles and submachine guns have patrolled inside the power station's compound around the clock.
