TOGO, Japan - Up-and-coming Tomohiro Kondo ignited with eight birdies on his way to tying a course-record 8-under-par 62 to grab a one-stroke lead after the first round of the 120 million yen Chunichi Crowns at the Nagoya Golf Club's par-70, 6,547-yard Wago Course in Aichi Prefecture on May 1.
