ATHENS, Greece - Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi (R) and his Greek counterpart Costas Simitis pose for a photograph before a summit between Japanese and European Union leaders in Athens on May 2. The leaders agreed to beef up their strategic partnership, notably deciding to urge North Korea to settle claims on its past abductions of Japanese, and calling on the United Nations to help postwar Iraq.
