      AKRON, United States - Japanese scientist Hiroaki Serizawa issues a statement in Akron, Ohio, on May 1 after he pleaded guilty to a single count of perjury at the Akron federal district court in return for the drop of espionage charges over the alleged theft of classified research materials from a U.S. government-funded research lab.
