IC driver's license unveiled for use from FY 2004
TOKYO, Japan - The National Police Agency (NPA) on June 12 unveiled a high-tech driver's license (above) imprinted with integrated circuitry that officials hope will prevent forgery and expedite license renewal as well as the issuing of traffic tickets. The new license, which will come into use from April 2004, is identical in size to the existing driver's license (below). (Kyodo)
