Fukusuke seeks court protection with 42 bil. yen in debts
OSAKA, Japan - Junji Fukushima (R), president of time-honored sock maker Fukusuke Corp., apologizes at a news conference in Osaka on June 21 as the company filed for court protection from its creditors the same day with debts of 42.6 billion yen. The company blamed a decline in sales of socks and underwear on sluggish consumer spending. (Kyodo)
