Ogata urges cease-fire to warlords in northern Afghanistan
MAZAR-E-SHARIF, Afghanistan - Japanese envoy Sadako Ogata (R) meets with the leaders of warring factions in northern Afghanistan, including the ethnic Uzbek warlord Abdul Rashid Dostam and his Tajik rival Atta Mohammad -- and other Afghan officials in Mazar-e-Sharif on July 7 and urged them to stop fighting each other.
