Direct N. Korea-U.S. talks said key to breaking impasse
LONDON, England - Jim Hoare (in file photo), a former head of the British mission in Pyongyang, says in an interview with Kyodo News that the current nuclear standoff between North Korea and the United States can only be addressed ultimately through bilateral negotiations, possibly facilitated by a respected American statesman. Hoare said he believes that the impasse will not be overcome quickly, predicting a ''long game'' of diplomatic activity. (Kyodo)
