Rhodes, Yomiuri Giants strike 2-year deal

TOKYO, Japan - Tuffy Rhodes (file photo) and the Yomiuri Giants reached an agreement on a two-year, $5 million (about 540 million yen) contract and the two sides are set to seal the deal within the next few days, Yomiuri general manager Hideaki Miyama said Dec. 18. Rhodes was released by the Kintetsu Buffaloes earlier this month after talks on a multiyear deal for his ninth and 10th seasons hit a snag. (Kyodo)
