U.S. to send mission to Japan on mad cow disease

TOKYO, Japan - Japanese Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister Yoshiyuki Kamei responds to questions from reporters at his ministry Jan. 15 after talks with U.S. Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman over the telephone. The two agreed to hold talks aimed at resuming Japanese imports of U.S. beef as soon as possible and that Washington will send a mission to Tokyo next week to discuss the issue. (Kyodo)
