Emperor, empress make 8th visit to Okinawa

NAHA, Japan - Emperor Akihito (R) and Empress Michiko visit the Peace Memorial Park in Itoman, Okanawa Prefecture, on Jan. 23. It is the imperial couple's first trip to Okinawa, Japan's southernmost prefecture, in nine years and eighth overall since they were crown prince and princess. (Kyodo)
