Paintings in ancient Kitora tomb remain intact
KASHIHARA, Japan - Photo released Jan. 27 by the Culture Agency shows one of paintings on the walls of the stone chamber of the ancient Kitora tomb in Asuka, Nara Prefecture. Researchers investigating the tomb, which dates from the late seventh to early eighth centuries, said the paintings in the stone chamber remain intact in comparison with their condition after a probe in 2001.
