Japan to analyze farm products DNA at customhouses
NARITA, Japan -A staff researcher at a seeds and seedlings center in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, checks sample seeds with a DNA analyzer. The Finance Ministry plans to install such analyzers for agricultural products at major customs houses to bar products of breeds improved in Japan and raised abroad from being imported to Japan, ministry officials said Jan. 31.
