Matsushita to introduce 13 flat TV models prior to Athens Games

TOKYO, Japan - Officials of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. tells reporters in Tokyo May 10 the company will introduce 13 new flat-panel TV models in Japan starting June 1 to cash in on an expected surge in demand due to the Aug. 13-29 Athens Olympic Games. The 13 products from its VIERA TV series include digital high-definition plasma TVs in three screen sizes -- 50, 42 and 37 inches. (Kyodo)

        TOKYO, Japan - Seven new models of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co.'s popular large-screen, flat-panel Viera televisions are displayed at a presentation in Tokyo on Aug. 9. Six of the models are plasma TVs with full high-definition specifications, ranging in size from 42-inch to 65-inch screens. The remaining model is a 37-inch liquid crystal display TV, also with full HD specifications.
