TOKYO, Japan - A House of Councillors panel passes a bill on June 11 allowing the government to ban ships deemed a security threat from Japanese ports, implicitly targeting North Korean vessels. The bill is likely to be enacted into law at an upper house plenary session on June 14. (Kyodo)
