Hashimoto quits as faction head over undeclared donation
TOKYO, Japan - Former Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto (in an undated photo) said July 30 that he will resign as head of the governing Liberal Democratic Party's largest faction, following growing criticism about an undeclared 100 million yen donation he allegedly received from a scandal-tainted dentists' association. At the faction's general meeting, Hashimoto said he will also break away from the group. (Kyodo)
