Japanese jailed for helping N. Koreans released, leaves China
GUANGZHOU, China - Takashi Noguchi waits at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport for a flight to Japan on Aug. 9 after being released from a prison in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Noguchi, a member of a Japanese nongovernmental organization, was sentenced by the Intermediate People's Court of Chongzuo to eight months in prison and fined 20,000 yuan (about 260,000 yen) on June 28 for helping North Koreans who entered China go to a third country.
