Rakuten eyes new Sendai-based baseball team

TOKYO, Japan - Hiroshi Mikitani, president of Japan's largest online shopping mall operator Rakuten Inc. announces Sept. 22 that the company will apply to Nippon Professional Baseball on Friday for approval of its plan to set up a new baseball team based in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. (Kyodo)
