Hijacker's wife gets suspended term for passport law violation
TOKYO, Japan - Tamiko Uomoto (in file photo), the wife of one of the radicals who hijacked a Japan Airlines jetliner in 1970 to North Korea, was sentenced on Oct. 6 to 18 months in prison, suspended for four years, for failing to obey a 1988 Japanese government order to surrender her passport.
