10,000 take qualifying test on culture, tourism of Kyoto

KYOTO, Japan - About 10,000 people take the first-ever examination to certify their knowledge of Kyoto history, culture and tourism Dec. 12. The exam, sponsored by the Kyoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is aimed at fostering human resources to preserve culture and promote tourism of the ancient Japanese capital. (Kyodo)
