TOKYO, Japan - Sony Corp. Vice Chairman Howard Stringer was named its new chairman and group chief executive officer on March 7, 2005. Stringer, the first non-Japanese to lead Sony, is also chairman and CEO of Sony Corp. of America. (Kyodo)
