Alkaased wins Japan Cup

TOKYO, Japan - Third pick Alkaased (C) charges to the front down the final stretch to win the Japan Cup at Tokyo Racecourse on Nov. 27, beating out Heart's Cry (R) in a photo finish after one of the most thrilling battles in race history. British-based Alkaased stormed out from the pack after the last turn and entered into a fierce duel with Heart's Cry in the final half furlong before crossing the line with a record time of 2 minutes, 22.1 seconds in the 2,400-meter race.
