Hitachi to appoint Vice President Furukawa as new president

TOKYO, Japan - Hitachi Ltd. said Dec. 15 its Executive Vice President Kazuo Furukawa (in file photo) will become the new president of the leading Japanese electronics maker on April 1, 2006. Current President and Chief Executive Officer Etsuhiko Shoyama will become chairman, the company said. (Kyodo)
