TSE halts all stock trading due to soaring orders
TOKYO, Japan - Tokyo Stock Exchange President Taizo Nishimuro (C) speaks at an urgently convened news conference at the exchange on Jan. 18. The TSE suspended trading in all listed shares at 2:40 p.m. as soaring orders from investors have reached its computer system's processing capacity. This is the first time the bourse has launched such an emergency measure. (Kyodo)
