U.S. Navy cruiser enters Hokkaido port despite local opposition

MURORAN, Japan - The Chancellorsville, an Aegis-equipped U.S. Navy cruiser deployed at Kanagawa Prefecture's Yokosuka Naval base, enters Hokkaido's Muroran port Feb. 3. Following a murder-robbery case in Yokosuka involving a U.S. sailor in January, the city of Muroran called for the U.S. Consulate General in Sapporo to postpone the cruiser's arrival. (Kyodo)
