Toyota begins production of Camry car in China's Guangzhou

GUANGZHOU, China - Toyota Motor Corp. begins production of its Camry car in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, on May 23. Toyota will initially produce 50,000 Camry cars a year at Guangzhou Toyota Motor Co., set up in 2004 jointly with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. Output will be boosted to 100,000 vehicles when the plant goes into full operation. (Kyodo)
