Koizumi to announce plan to pull Japan's troops from Iraq

SAMAWAH, Iraq - A unit of Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force troops is on patrol outside a television station in Samawa, southern Iraq, on June 18. In Tokyo, a Japanese government source said that Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi will announce a plan on June 20 to withdraw Japanese troops from Samawah. (Kyodo)
