Average land price in Japan rises for 1st time in 14 years
TOKYO, Japan - The average price of land along selected major streets across Japan rose for the first time in 14 years. As of Jan. 1, 2006, a piece of land in front of stationery store Kyukyodo (in photo taken Aug. 1) in Tokyo's Ginza district continued to be the most expensive real estate in Japan for the 21st straight year, rising 3.6 million yen per sq. meter to 18.72 million yen.
