Deep Impact wins Arima Kinen to mark retirement

TOKYO, Japan - Deep Impact (C) made his final run in style Dec. 24 with a crushing victory at the Arima Kinen to mark his retirement from thoroughbred action in the most prestigious race in the country. Deep Impact, last year's triple crown winner, clocked 2 minutes, 31.9 seconds on the 2,500-meter track at Nakayama Racecourse in Chiba Prefecture. (Kyodo)
