Omi calls for debate on raising consumption tax rate

LONDON, England - Japanese Finance Minister Koji Omi speaks with reporters following his talks with British Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown in London on Jan. 11.             Copper fiber sheet commercialized by Good Eye

            Good Eye (Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture) will release GUD Sheet, a copper fiber sheet with antibacterial and antiviral effects, in June. The company commercialized four types of masks, including one priced at 4,980 yen (excluding consumption tax). The GUD sheet is a polymer fiber covered with copper foil and coated with a visible light responsive photocatalyst.               NTT DoCoMo announced on the 18th that it will start commercial service of the 5th generation communication (5G) on the 25th.
