Ajinomoto to ally with Yamaki to bolster food operations

TOKYO, Japan - Ajinomoto Co. President Norio Yamaguchi (L) and Yamaki Co. President Hisashi Kido appear at a news conference in Tokyo on Feb. 1 where Yamaguchi announced a capital and business alliance with Yamaki, a Japanese processed food maker, to enhance its food operations. Ajinomoto, Japan's largest seasoning maker, plans to acquire a 33.4 percent stake in Yamaki, based in the city of Iyo, Ehime Prefecture, by the end of March 2007. (Kyodo)
