Kenya's Njenga wins rain-hit Tokyo Marathon
TOKYO, Japan - Kenya's Daniel Njenga crosses the finishing line for a comfortable victory in the Tokyo Marathon on Feb. 18 after favorite and fellow Kenyan Sammy Korir pulled up midway through the revamped race. The 30-year-old Njenga, the 2004 Tokyo International Marathon champion, clocked 2 hours 9 minutes, 45 seconds in rainy weather to win the race, the Japanese capital's first large-scale event of its kind, replacing its predecessor, the Tokyo International Marathon.
